Kino MacGregor -Ashtanga Yoga Teacher

Kino MacGregor is one of a select group of people to receive the Certification to teach Ashtanga Yoga by its founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. The youngest woman to hold this title, she has completed the challenging Third Series and is now learning the Fourth Series. Without any background in movement training Kino MacGregor tried her first yoga class when she was nineteen. Three years later, she joined Govinda Kai's Mysore-style classes in New York City and became a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner. After seven months of traditional Ashtanga practice Kino traveled to Mysore, India to meet her true teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois ("Guruji"). Upon her return she began real self-practice by practicing alone and devoting herself entirely to the study and teaching of Ashtanga yoga. After seven years of consistent trips to Mysore, at the age of 29, she received from Guruji the Certification to teach Ashtanga yoga and has since worked to pass on the inspiration to practice to countless others




After spending a major portion of her life actively engaged in personal growth work, Kino returned to Miami Beach to create a space dedicated to the integration of yoga, holistic health and consciousness. In 2006, she and her husband Tim Feldmann founded Miami Life Center, where they now teach daily classes, workshops and intensives together. Miami Life Center is a community built around yoga, holistic health and consciousness on Miami Beach www.miamilifecenter.com. In 2008 she produced two Ashtanga yoga DVDs (Kino MacGregor – A Journey, A Workshop; Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series) and a yoga practice card. She is currently working on two more DVDs and book about her personal experiences in yoga.



Kino is dedicated to carrying the torch of Ashtanga yoga throughout the world and sharing the amazing tradition of Ashtanga yoga with everyone who is inspired to practice. In her unique, inspirational and playful approach Kino helps all her students expand and deepen their understanding of yoga and life. Το σύστημα Forrest Yoga® βασίζεται σε στάσεις της Hatha (asanas) και η κάθε στάση εκτελείται με σωστή ευθυγράμμιση έτσι ώστε να αποφεύγονται τυχόν τραυματισμοί αλλά και να απαλύνει παλιούς ή τρέχων τραυματισμούς. Η σειρά των στάσεων ποικίλει και είναι διαφορετική σε κάθε μάθημα με σκοπό να δυναμώσει όλα τα σημεία του σώματος αλλά και να ξυπνήσει σιγά-σιγά το σώμα ενεργοποιώντας την αναπνοή μας και φέρνοντας τη ζωτικότητα που μας δίνει το οξυγόνο σε κάθε κύτταρο του σώματός μας. Η αίθουσα είναι θερμή --όχι ζεστή-- στους 28 -29 βαθμούς Κελσίου, έτσι ώστε οι μύες αλλά και τα κόκαλα να είναι εύκολο να κινηθούν, τα ευλύγιστα σώματα να μακρύνουν περισσότερο και να προχωρήσει πηγαίνοντας πιο βαθιά καθώς στα μη ευλύγιστα σώματα η θερμότητα να τους βοηθήσει να επιμηκυνθεί και να μακρύνει ευκολότερα χωρίς τραυματισμούς.

Come and join us for a relaxed and social yoga holiday, with the peaceful village of Chora Sfakion on the south coast of Crete in the background. Choose from a variety of yoga styles and experienced teachers and allow yourself to enjoy a holistic rejuvenation of body and mind through the contact with nature and the practice of yoga.

The day begins at 7am with a two-hour dynamic Ashtanga yoga class. After breakfast guests are free to relax on the beach and enjoy the sunshine, or explore the village and region. A light lunch is also on offer. In the late afternoon there is a second yoga class, focusing on deepening the awareness in the postures practiced in the morning, relaxation, pranayama and meditation, philosophical aspects of yoga, or mantras and kirtan, followed by dinner. The number of guests is limited to 15, to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, and ensure that classes are suitable for all levels.
On some days we will arrange group excursions, according to interest. Additionally, individual excursions (hikes, boat trips) can be arranged.

Accomodation
Accomodation is offered in our beautifully restored traditional stone house, where meals are also served, or in separate rooms with great sea and mountain views. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, and conveniently situated 5 minutes walk from the beach and village centre, but also pleasantly secluded. Moreover, the front garden and the private olive grove at the back blend in with the natural landscape and offer options for places to rest.

Food

Three delicious lacto-vegetarian meals, prepared with love by our fantastically inventive chef and inspired by the famous for its macrobiotic qualities local cuisine, are served daily. Two of the nights guests are free to enjoy more local specialties and fresh fish in the local restaurants.

With the peaceful location of Chora Sfakion on the south coast of Crete in the background, we have created a relaxed and social Yoga Holiday, offering a holistic rejuvenation of body and mind through the contact with nature and the practice of yoga.

The number of guests is limited to 8, to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, and ensure that classes are suitable for all levels.
On some days we will arrange early morning swims and group excursions, according to interest. Additionally, individual excursions (hikes, boat trips) can be arranged.
